In 1985, a small group of Filipinos led by Dr. Trinidad Espiritu Garcia felt the need to organized an association to bring Filipinos together to preserve the culture and arts of the Philippines. Comprised mostly of Filipino-Americans that reside in St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee and Martin county. The Philippine-American Association of the Treasure Coast, Inc. (Phil-Am) was incorporated in 1986 and granted 501(c)3 or tax-exempt status in 1989.

For more that 25 years, Phil-Am has provided and continues to provide a "Home Away From Home" for hundred of Filipinos and their families through its various activities. Phil-Am is an association of volunteers. Its longevity were attributed to the "Bayanihan" or community spirit exemplified by its dedicated Officers and Board of Directors who give their time, talents and efforts to accomplish the Phil-Am mission.

We are thankful and grateful to all the volunteers who make every event possible year after year. Our heartfelt appreciation to all our donors and sponsors. Their financial support is instrumental to Phil-Am mission and vision. Their generosity deserve recognition. Most importantly, our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our members, your interest and participation give the association a purpose. Let us continue to work together and support one another.
